POSITION SUMMARY

The Production Worker will operate print and cut plotters, direct to garment printers, embroidery machines, laser engravers and cutter, UV Printers and Sublimation printers. The Production worker position is essential to our operations. Not only will you assist with our printing, shipping, packing, and other fulfillment needs, you’ll also be an essential part of managing our customer experience.


Role: As a Production Worker, your primary responsibilities include printing various items such as apparel, stationary, and hardgoods (mugs, water bottles etc.)

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Receiving and reviewing work order jobs for various printing methods, determine estimated printing times, ink, and material quantities.
  • Conduct pre-production preparation.
  • Preparing / vectoring designs for production use
  • Preparing machines for print
  • Operating various equipment such as our Direct-to-garment (DTG), Embroidery, plotters, Lasers, and UV printers.
  • Running prints and performing quality checks throughout the printing process.
  • Troubleshooting problems as they arise.
  • Drying, folding, and packing completed articles after the run.
  • Have practical, hands-on industry experience in promotional products and apparel printing.
  • Be highly skilled at setting up and operating automatic printing machines including.
    • Roland VS-540 Plotter
    • Universal v50 Laser Machine
    • Konica 1060L Professional Copier
    • Universal UV printer
    • Epson F2000 DTG
    • Sublimation machine
  • Be familiar with the latest industry trends, equipment, and technology.
  • Be extremely well detailed and organized and have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Be a team player with a positive attitude.
  • Be highly focused on quality.
  • Pack, weigh, and label completed items for shipment or storage.
  • Follow all company guidelines regarding packaging.
  • Identify and dispose of defective items.
  • Keep complete records of all materials that go through the warehouse.
  • Maintain a clean work area.
  • Other duties or responsibilities as assigned by your Supervisor, Manager, Director, or the ED

WHAT YOU BRING

  • High school diploma
  • 2+ years of previous work experience in textiles, a design space or screen-printing environment is required.
  • Proficiency with required desktop publishing tools, including Photoshop, InDesign Quark, and Illustrator.
  • Proficient computer skills including Cordell Draw, Adobe illustrator required.
  • Understanding of marketing, production, website design, corporate identity, product packaging, advertisements, and multimedia design.
  • Experience working in a textile printing operation.
  • High level of creative and artistic skills.
  • Ability to work with ink and chemicals every day.
  • A strong eye for visual composition as well as Excellent hand-eye coordination.
  • Able to give and receive constructive criticism.
  • Ability to manually operate large machinery.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Effective time management skills and the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to stand for long periods.
  • Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office 365 Suite (Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Ability to adhere to an Oath of Confidentiality agreement, Seabird Island Band Policies and Procedures
  • Knowledge, respect, and understanding of Stó: lō culture, history, traditions, and language is considered an asset
  • Experience working with First Nations community is considered an asset
  • Valid BC Driver’s License, Class 5 & clean Driver’s Abstract
  • Satisfactory Criminal Record Check (Police Information Check).
