Do you have what it takes?

Our team at Stelcrete is looking to add Production Welders to their team in Fort Erie! The Production Welder is responsible for, but not limited to, the assembly of rebar structures by welding and / or tying. Reporting to the Production Supervisor, you will work and operate machinery in a safe and efficient manner.

Core Duties

  • Adheres to Technical System Procedures and Instructions
  • Select appropriate quantity, length and gauge of rebar as required for structure being assembled
  • Utilize measuring instruments (tape measure, straight edge, laser sight, jig) as required to properly locate and space rebar
  • Weld bars using Mig welder
  • Responsible to reload weld wire
  • Change and maintain weld tips to ensure weld quality is consistent
  • Operate overhead crane, once properly certified in crane use
  • Ensure machine guards are in place and material handled in a safe manner
  • Must wear appropriate safety equipment as specified
  • Be able to detect faulty operation of equipment being used as well as faulty material
  • Complete any paperwork that pertains to the job
  • As required, sort and rework defective material, repack and dispose of scrap
  • Working in a non-climate controlled environment

Skills

  • Must be capable of repeated standing, walking, carrying, bending and lifting
  • Frequent lifting of weights up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to maintain a clean and organized work area
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints

Education/Experience

  • A formal Welding Certificate is preferred but not required
  • If you have at least one year of MIG welding experience, we would welcome your application
