Position Description
The Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) is recruiting a Performance Measurement Specialist to work in Performance Improvement. Reporting to the Director, Reporting & Analytics, your primary responsibility will be to support the Team Leads in providing vision, direction, and leadership towards the development and implementation of CAMH’s internal reporting framework and performance measurement strategy. You will be accountable for the development and reporting of indicators in the organization’s Balanced Scorecard, as well as providing support to specific “client” programs in developing and implementing departmental scorecards and evaluation frameworks. The Performance Measurement Specialist will also work closely with the clinical programs to develop operational reports for the management team, and work to develop and improve the indicators in the Business Intelligence tool. You will remain current with the evolving indicator requirements and benchmarks in mental health and addictions hospitals, as well as those for applicable indicators in general hospitals and the LHIN, and ensure that CAMH is aligned with those directions. You will also work closely with members of the Performance Improvement Team to understand and identify data issues that will have an impact on performance measurement. With your extensive knowledge regarding performance indicators within a health care environment, outcome measures, external benchmarks, measurement and evaluation, and reporting tools you will act as an internal consultant to CAMH programs regarding the development of performance measures and portfolio scorecards. Qualifications
The successful candidate will have a Post-secondary degree or diploma in business administration, statistical analysis, or financial analysis and 3 to 5 years of experience in a performance management area within a healthcare environment. You will have a thorough understanding of standard hospital indicators, particularly in a mental health and/or addictions environment. You will have knowledge of clinical datasets, especially the RAI-MH, and regulatory reporting requirements, as well as knowledge of performance measurement frameworks. The ideal candidate will have project management experience within an inter-professional team environment as well. The successful candidate will also have excellent interpersonal and communication (both verbal and written) skills enabling you to develop strong working relationships with management and other stakeholders. You will have demonstrated the ability to challenge and motivate others in a fast-paced, dynamic inter-professional team environment and with all levels of the organization. You will have strong analytical, methodological and organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks/projects simultaneously while prioritizing competing workload demands. You will have experience in and the ability to create reports and presentations. Familiarity with data analysis is an asset as is knowledge of BI tools. Candidates require the ability to work effectively in a wide range of settings with individuals from diverse backgrounds. Bilingualism (French/English) or proficiency in a second language is also considered an asset.
