The Island Health Division of Otolaryngology has an opportunity for a general otolaryngologist to join four others within a regional call group. The option to locum is also available. The applicant will be based out of the Cowichan District Hospital. Eligible candidates will hold, or be eligible for, full FRCSC in otolaryngology head and neck surgery and full licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of B.C.

On-call responsibility is one in five as it is shared with otolaryngologists in Nanaimo. The Cowichan District Hospital, a 134-bed acute care facility, enjoys an exceptionally collegial atmosphere amongst the general and specialty medical staff. The new Cowichan District Hospital is expected to be completed in 2026 and will bring added inpatient capacity in excess of 200 beds, as well as expanded OR and ICU capacity. We plan for state-of-the-art equipment and design.

Relocation Costs Reimbursement – to a maximum of $15,000;
Recruitment Incentive - $10,000;
Fee Premium – 4.20%;
Annual Flat Fee – $4,834.80
Rural CME starting at $3,000/annum in years 3 &4 increasing to a maximum of $6,000/annum after 4 years.
