Reporting to the Director, Building Science and Sustainability, the Operations Manager provides supervision, training, coordination and quality control for all employees in the Building Science Group. As an Operations Manager you will also perform project management functions for specific clients and be the principal contact for proposals issued by the group.


What you will be doing at Pinchin


  • Business Development
  • Financial and administrative responsibility for the activities of the Group
  • Staff supervision, training and development, and mentorship
  • Coordination of the project related activities of all supervised
  • Maintaining and enhancing quality control within the group
  • Performing Project Management duties for Pinchin clients in the respective geographic area
  • Coordinating work and client contacts with other groups within the Pinchin Group of Companies
  • Provide cross selling activities with other groups within Pinchin
  • Any other job-related duties that may be assigned from time to time


What you bring to the Pinchin team


  • Bachelor of Science or Applied Science in Mechanical, Civil, Building Envelope or Structural Engineering or related discipline
  • P. Eng., CET or BSS
  • Must have 10-15 years of experience with building science consulting and construction (structural engineering a definite asset). Construction experience on new and existing building projects. Management of team leadership of large groups of technical staff. Experience with retrofitting of existing buildings, abatement and contract management
  • Excellent leadership skills, strong analytical and strategic thinking skills
  • Experience in managing a large group of technical staff
  • Experience with business development initiatives and client interaction
  • A valid driver’s license, insurance and personal vehicle required
