The Opportunity

Reporting to the Vice President, Motorcoach, the Operations Manager will have P & L responsibility and will oversee operations for motorcoach service in Ontario. This is an exciting opportunity for an industry professional with experience in transportation or logistics. Focus will be on leading the team, identifying areas for growth, and continuing to build on customer service and overall operational efficiency.

  • Inspire, coach, mentor, build, develop, and support a team of dedicated professionals to deliver business objectives

  • Provide leadership and direction by building, engaging and empowering a team

  • Develop and maintain trusted and strong working relationships with key stakeholders, colleagues, customers & employees
  • Develop and support a team with a focus on safety, customer service, reliability and operational effectiveness

  • Ensure appropriate reporting tools are in place to monitor results with the view of continually improving operations
  • Take action to correct unsatisfactory conditions that may arise in any aspect of the operations and direct appropriate action to accomplish company objectives
  • Maintain and enhance customer satisfaction by ensuring the highest quality services are provided to clients, owners and end users
  • Drive a culture focused on service excellence
  • Continually assess and benchmark operational processes with those of other product and service providers and leading organizations within and outside of the industry to promote the highest levels of service effectiveness
  • Implement initiatives designed to increase employee engagement and customer satisfaction
  • Administer and oversee, budgets, and contracts; review and approve expenditures and service standards; meet service delivery objectives and oversee business activities
  • Demonstrate leadership and core competencies at a high level of development; serve as an exemplary model of the company’s Core Values
  • Provide oversight and direction to staff; deliver timely feedback; monitor the achievement of performance objectives; develop and implement action plans to address performance gaps
  • Remain current with latest transportation industry and local trends

What You Bring

  • Previous experience managing budgets and financial statements
  • Proven background in transportation or logistics
  • Experience managing a transportation operations or logistics function with high standard for safety and quality customer service
  • Effective team leadership in a people-oriented culture
  • Strong communicator who is capable of building and bridging relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Strong business sense complemented by resourcefulness, sound business judgment and a customer focus
  • Team player and coach who generates a motivating and empowering climate in which people strive to excel
  • Superior interpersonal skills
  • Exceptional organizational, communications, analytic problem solving, and diplomacy skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite
  • Knowledge of provincial and federal laws and regulations pertaining to the transportation industry
  • Knowledge of WSIB and Occupational Health and Safety regulations

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: $70,000.00-$75,000.00 per year
