Job Summary:

The Operations Manager plays a key role in the management of daily operations, leading a team of supervisors and associates whose mandate to meet or exceed a set of Key Performance Objectives focused quality, and efficiency of work. The Operations Manager provides direction, coaching and support to energize the team.

The Operations Manager is responsible to ensure that GMP and ISO/QSP standards are met and that procedures outlined in Client Manuals are adhered to. The Operations Manager must have a thorough understanding of Warehousing (inbound, outbound, returns, inventory). The Operations Manager is also responsible for creating a safe, discrimination free, positive workplace environment.

DUTIES RESPONSIBILITIES

COACHING AND STAFF DEVELOPMENT

  • Establish goals & objectives for operating group and is responsible to ensure that Key Performance Indicators are meet or exceeded.
  • Responsible for Continuous Improvement and capable of managing multiple projects.
  • Responsible for managing labour and expense costs as it relates to facility to ensure overall profitability.
  • Responsible to ensure that policies and procedures as outlined by GMP, ISO/QSP and Client Manuals are adhered to and that training in these areas is provided and transferred to the job.
  • Provides feedback and coaching to direct reports to maximize team performance.
  • Obtains MHE trainer certification and provides ongoing training, assessment, and certification to MHE operators.
  • Demonstrate positive leadership and establish and demonstrate a strong business ethic in relationships with employees, suppliers, and clients.

INVENTORY

  • Responsible for overall inventory accuracy is maintained by ensuring associates follow procedure and that regular cycle counting and physical inventory counts are conducted as per schedule.

ISSUE RESOLUTION AND REPORTING

  • Conducts root cause analysis to determine reason for service failures and recommends and actions solutions.
  • Responds to client inquiries, and participates in client meetings to review KPI’s, and to address service issues.
  • Handle customer enquiries and complaints received from clients and contribute to the solutions of these problems.
  • Examine reports (e.g., inventory, sales and daily reports) to determine the operational activities of the company and to maximize performance.

DUTIES

  • Responsible for creating and maintaining a safe, discrimination free, positive workplace environment.
  • Responsible to ensure that human resources policies, legislative requirements and corporate values are adhered to.
  • Oversees hiring and termination of employees with support from Human Resources.
  • Responsible for ensuring security procedures are adhered to by all facility staff.

Qualifications:

  • 2-3 years logistics experience at a managerial level.
  • Advanced understanding of GMP requirements.
  • Developed competency with Warehouse Management Systems.
  • Developed, well established leadership skills.
  • Highly organized with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong in Excel, Systems and Analytical evaluation.
  • Strong leadership skills, with a strong focus on operations and business processes.
  • Ability to identify key issues and finding solutions to overcome them.

Shift:

Monday - Friday 10:00am - 6:30pm

Intersection: Highway 7 and Highway 27

Job Type: Full-time
