Kootenay Doukhobor Historical Society operating the Doukhobor Discovery Centre Museum is looking for an experienced Professional Bookkeeper/Office Manager located in Castlegar, British Columbia.

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Record day to day financial transactions and complete the posting process and reconciliations. Bank deposits.
  • Process accounts receivable/payable and handle payroll in a timely manner.
  • Knowledge of QuickBooks would be an asset.
  • Answering the phone.
  • Record keeping.
  • Maintain inventory in a timely manner. Experience with Square POS in a retail environment would be an asset.
  • Verify that transactions are recorded correctly, and reconciliations are completed in a timely manner.
  • Employee Manuals and Onboarding.
  • Perform partial checks of the posting process.
  • Enter data, maintain records, and create reports.

Requirements

  • Experienced Bookkeeper with a solid understanding of payables, payroll and receivable principles.
  • Knowledge of QuickBooks Accounting System.
  • Not required but an asset is a knowledge Square POS for retail.
  • Detailed data entry skills.
  • Ability to work with multiple projects, budgeting and deadlines.
  • Proficiency in English, MS Office and Quick Books.
  • Customer service and negotiation skills.
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Bookkeeping certificate or relevant experience.
  • Professionalism and excellent work ethic.

Job Types: Full-time, Seasonal
Contract length: 9 months

Salary: $22.00-$24.00 per hour
