About this opportunity:
Cenovus’s New Grad Program aims to attract, develop and retain exceptional new grads to build a top talent pipeline for the company. The program provides new grads with a broad understanding of Cenovus’s core business through challenging work assignments, training and development, field exposure and the opportunity to develop a large network of contacts through networking and mentorship opportunities.
Our Program consists of three consecutive 12-month rotational assignments that span Cenovus’s varied business areas (Finance, Planning and Risk). Upon completion of the three-year program, you will be matched to a permanent role within the organization. This role will be based on business need and relocation may be required.

Responsibilities:
Responsibilities may include:
  • Perform financial and credit analysis on key market risk exposures to support assessment and potential mitigation of financial impacts.
  • Support and ensure adherence to risk and insurance policy, standard and procedures across the organization.
  • Support development of Cenovus's annual budget and long-term business plan.
  • Support the quarterly financial forecast process which informs in-year business decision making.
  • Assist with preparation of materials (reports and presentations) for the Cenovus Leadership Team and Board of Directors on the budget and business plan.
  • Obtain an understanding of Cenovus’s business processes and procedures as well as identifying opportunities to improve business planning process.
Qualifications
Our ideal candidate will have the following minimum qualifications:
  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
  • Available to begin work June 2023
  • Graduated from an Accounting, Finance or Commerce program at an accredited university within the last two years (2021, 2022, 2023)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a high attention to detail
  • Critical thinker and ability to work independently with limited supervision in a fast-paced, high-performing, team environment
  • Flexible to changing work demands and ability to prioritize
  • Innovative, with a strong desire to learn and the ability to encourage new ways of looking at problems, processes or solutions
  • Demonstrates collaboration by actively seeking out diverse people and organizations to collectively achieve business goals
  • Demonstrate discretion with confidential data
