Millwright (Maintenance 1) Profile:
We are seeking an individual to join our Maintenance team at Harbourside Organix inc. The Millwright (Maintenance 1) will work in conjunction with the facility Operations Supervisor and General Manager to maintain the equipment and ensure smooth, uninterrupted operations of the facility. The successful candidate will be responsible but not limited to the following:
- Detecting and troubleshooting irregularities and malfunctions.
- Performing scheduled, emergency, and preventative maintenance, as well as general repairs, overhauls, installs, dismantles et al.
- Maintain adequate parts supplies and tools as well as maintain administrative records with respect to maintenance needs.
- Make recommendations on systems, parts modifications, repairs, replacements, and changes.
- Adhere to all relevant Health & Safety and legislative requirements. Including participating in H&S meetings, monthly inspections and comply with OHSA assisting with on-site inspections.
Site Equipment:
Maintenance will be responsible for a variety of equipment with 3rd party contractor support when required. This includes but is not limited to the following:
- Komptech processing equipment
- Volvo & John Deere wheel loaders
- Cat skidsteers and accessories
- Scissor and boom lifts
- HVAC, air exchange and blower systems
- Hydraulics and instrumentation
- PLC controls
- SCADA and instrumentation systems
- Conveyors, pumps and compressors, hoist, and other lifting devices
- Electrical and electronic controls
- Power tools, fans, and blowers
Qualifications:
- Experience maintaining heavy equipment and attachments/instrumentation
- Able to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications
- Experience in Manufacturing, Industrial, Construction or a related industry
- Must be proficient with MS Office and be able to input data on a tablet device
- Previous experience with heavy equipment, electrical and HVAC systems
- Completion of post- secondary/ vocational education
- Possesses an Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) certification
- Industrial Electrician certification considered an asset

Working Conditions:
- Lifting up to 30 lb.
- Role involves a lot of walking
- Work is mostly inside facility but occasionally outside
- Odorous environment
- Regular schedule is Monday – Friday with shift scheduled between 6:30 a.m. – 6:30 p.m. for a total of 44 hours/week
- Occasional Saturday shifts are required (half day maintenance and statutory holiday work week adjustments)
- Shared on-call responsibilities
