The Langley Concrete Group has an immediate opportunity for a Millwright (3rd or 4th year Millwright Apprentice, Red Seal Preferred) to join the manufacturing team at our Chilliwack production facility. Gas is over $2/Litre, skip the commute! We have high paying and steady employment right here in Chilliwack!

Reporting to the Senior Production Coordinators and based in our Chilliwack BC manufacturing center, the Millwright’s prime focus is to support the continuous availability and reliability of production machinery including overhead cranes, motor control centers, concrete mixing and casting system components, steam curing system, PLC machine controls, hydraulic systems, wire and reinforcing machinery and all related tools and equipment.

The qualifications and personal characteristics necessary for success in this role include:

  • Experience as a Millwright maintaining diverse heavy duty manufacturing equipment in a high volume, short lead time environment.
  • A passion for workplace safety as it relates to maintenance and repair functions.
  • Strong trouble shooting and analytical skills and a desire to identify and correct the underlying factors in machine breakdowns and equipment failures.
  • Excellent English language reading, writing, speaking and listening skills that support the effective gathering of information and communication of solutions.
  • An ability to effectively communicate information up and down within an organization.
  • An open, approachable and collaborative character and the ability to work effectively and respectfully with Coordinators, Machine Operators and departmental personnel who possess varying levels of knowledge and experience.
  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s License.
  • Availability to work during the week as well as Saturday's
  • Mobile equipment certification and training in the safe operation of elevating work platforms.
  • Physical ability to perform the required demands of the job including working at heights, bending, crawling, lifting, pushing, pulling, etc.
