About You
Reporting to the Manager, Pathology & Laboratory Medicine, the Medical Laboratory Technologist (MLT) works in collaboration with all members of the Laboratory Services team to conduct medical laboratory tests, experiments and analyses to assist in the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of disease.
The MLT ensures that the principles and practices that guide our work such as the mission, vision, values, expected behaviors, the leadership philosophy, organizational health, population health, ethics, safety, quality, partnerships and interprofessional collaboration are integrated within the services they provide and through the messages they deliver.
About the Opportunity

- Graduate of a recognized Medical Laboratory Technologist program
- Eligible for licensure with the Nova Scotia College for Medical Laboratory Technologists
- Current membership with the Canadian Society for Medical Laboratory Science
- Computer proficiency

Preferred (Considered an Asset):
- Experience in a hospital laboratory setting
- Experience in Core Lab
- Experience with a Laboratory Information System (Meditech)
- Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred
Hours
- Permanent, Part-Time (50%) position; 37.5 hours bi-weekly
- Shifts may include evenings, nights, weekends & holidays
Compensation and Incentives
$30.68 - $37.36 hourly
Successful candidates may be eligible for our benefits package which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
Successful candidates may also be eligible for a signing bonus and relocation assistance with a defined Return of Service contract.
