Plains is currently looking for an experienced Mechanical Maintenance / Operations Technician to work at our crude oil treating facility in Rimbey, AB. Reporting to the Area Supervisor, this position will provide support to operations and assist with mechanical maintenance in addition to ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements and company policies/procedures as they pertain to this role.
Our Ideal Candidate Is:
- Flexible and willing to work as both an operator and a maintenance person.
- Able to perform preventative equipment maintenance and tracking as required.
- Able to work efficiently as an individual or as a team member with minimal supervision.
- An excellent written and verbal communicator.
- Able to assist and monitor outside contractors performing work at the facility.
- Able to interpret manufacturers’ manuals and disassemble / assemble mechanical equipment.
- Willing to provide support to other Plains facilities as required.
Qualifications:
- Permanent residency within 120 km of Plains’ Rimbey facility.
- Minimum Grade XII education with 3–5 years’ oilfield / pipeline experience.
- Certified Interprovincial Journeyperson—Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) or Steamfitter/Pipefitter strongly preferred.
- Strong mechanical aptitude.
- Demonstrated computer knowledge with experience in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean abstract.
- Cleared criminal history (background) and satisfactory reference checks.
- Compliance with the Company’s drug and alcohol policy including pre-employment D&A testing.
