We are currently providing an opportunity for a well-rounded, technical minded, customer satisfaction focused professional to join our team in the position of Mechanical Engineer to develop all aspects of technical design and documentation for mechanical sub-systems including the electronic controls portion of Inland equipment.


About the Position:

Engineering is strategic to Inland’s overall success. The essential duties and responsibilities of this position include:

  • Develop mechanical sub-systems in support of Inland’s processes and equipment, including distillation plants, glycol concentrators, various pre- and post-treatment sub-systems, glycol distribution equipment and other systems;
  • Develop PLC based control systems in support of the mechanical systems and sub-systems;
  • Participate in hands-on design development of equipment to support Inland’s current and future growth needs;
  • Work closely with the Engineering services team to progress designs from concept to detailed design, to manufacture and implementation;
  • Manage supporting documentation for Inland processes and equipment, including but not limited to Bills of Materials, design calculations, drawings, theory of operation documents, SOPs and troubleshooting guides;
  • Technical support for operational sites as needed, for example troubleshooting issues with PLC software, process instrumentation, and mechanical equipment;
  • Other duties as assigned by management.


Please Note: Approximately 15% to 20% of time will be spent traveling including overnight travel.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Engineering Degree;
  • 5+ years of relevant Engineering experience;
  • 3+ years of specific technical experience relating to the design of mechanical industrial equipment with PLC based electronic control systems;
  • Engineering related field experience;
  • Working knowledge of programming languages such as Siemens and Allen Bradley considered an asset;
  • Industrial Control System programming experience (PLC) considered an asset;
  • Proven ability to plan and execute;
  • Willingness to engage in hands-on development, testing, and root cause investigations;
  • Excellent communicator, using both verbal and written communication skills with ability to listen to others and value opinions, interpret information, promote and execute ideas;
  • Positive and proactive contributor who is capable of interacting with varying personalities and all levels of internal and external stakeholders;
  • Highly motivated, self-starter, with the ability to manage several competing tasks and demands simultaneously.
