Weaver Group Limited currently has an opening for a LOGISTICS MANAGER

General Responsibilities:

The Logistics Manager, will oversee and coordinate the day-to-day operation and administration of the WGL fleet, while maximizing fleet utilization.

Duties Include:

  • Communicate with management and customers, to coordinate and dispatch the necessary personnel and fleet equipment.
  • Plan, source, and coordinate third-party resources for upcoming and ongoing projects.
  • Accurately maintain fleet tracking/reporting systems and documentation including: job/fleet allocations, maintenance schedules, repair requests, Interprovincial/Federal permit acquisitions, inspection scheduling,
  • Manage driver required documentation including: pre/post trip inspections, driver logs, job hazard assessments/field level hazard assessments and driver time sheets.
  • Arrange for equipment to be available for fleet maintenance.
  • Evaluate driver’s performance and coordinate with WGL HR and Safety Officer to provide ongoing training and support.
  • Enforce DOT and company safety policies and regulations.
  • Ensure drivers have adequate hours of service and rest.
  • Respond to management, client and driver enquiries in a timely manner.

Experience & Skills Required:

  • 10+ years of dispatch experience within oilfield transportation.
  • Valid Class 1 license and experience operating heavy equipment is essential.
  • Must be able to work well as part of a diverse team.
  • Knowledge of heavy equipment specific to the pipeline industry essential.
  • Ability to plan and foresee potential issues that may require transportation plan to be adjusted.
  • Must have strong organizational, and interpersonal skills as well as the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Experience with DOT regulations, hours of service and proper load securement.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Windows systems.
