We are looking for a people person, a forward thinking, big picture, detail oriented individual - to join a growing team of HR professionals as a Junior People Success Partner.
The Jr. People Success Partner will be responsible for providing support in several critical and diverse areas of People & Culture. This will include:
- Management and coordination of the College’s illness related absences programs.
 - Serving as the central point of contact for all illness absences and as such working in partnership with all relevant parties to coordinate a team approach to case management and to facilitate communication.
 - Monitoring and triaging the People Success Partner mailbox, ensuring that queries are responded to in a timely manner.
 - Responding to enquiries within the area of disability management and ergonomic assessments.
 - Managing ergonomic assessment requests and processes.
 - Serving as the central point of contact for working-out-of-province requests and enquiries. Managing special projects within the P & C team.
 
The Jr. People Success Partner reports to the Manager, Employee & Labour Relations. In all duties, the Jr. People Success Partner will ensure activities are compliant with the Collective Agreements, College Policies and Procedures, and other Terms and Conditions for employees.
 
Labour Relations and Disability Management Support
- Responsible for managing and maintaining all case information. Documentation on individual cases will include tracking of expiry of General illness (GI) timeframes, submission of long-term disability (LTD) applications, submission of WCB claims, modified work plans, return-to-work plans.
 - Submits all GI, LTD and WCB claims for adjudication to the relevant external party and acts as the primary Bow Valley College contact for each claim.
 - Advises employees on the relevant process and ensures they are aware of their obligations in order to be eligible for illness benefits. Maintains records for all initiated claims, ensuring employees are provided with information regarding their absence.
 - Provides guidance and direction to supervisors based on information received regarding the length of time the employee is absent and any restrictions/modifications that must be adhered to.
 - Provides guidance to supervisors regarding their legal obligation to accommodate medical restrictions and/or modifications.
 - Updates payroll regarding payment for employees on illness leave.
 - Ensures communication is maintained with People Success Partners where workplace or performance issues have been identified.
 - Conducts regular meetings with benefit carriers to monitor progress on disability claims.
 - Statistical tracking and provision of metrics for disability claims.
 - Recommends changes and enhancements to the disability management process as required and in consultation within the People and Culture department.
 - Maintains and monitors the People Success Partner mailbox inquiries and requests for information by answering inquiries, internal and external, or redirecting inquiries to the People Success Partners as appropriate. Ensures that responses to inquiries are compliant with Collective Agreements, Bow Valley College Policies and Procedures and other Terms and Conditions for employees.
 - Manages ergonomic assessment requests, communicates with the ergonomic assessment provider, communicates with the internal stakeholders involved in the process.
 - Provides assistance to the bargaining process. Gathers, analyzes and groups all relevant data needed for preparation and maintenance of information across the sector.
 - Participates in the creation and review of policies and procedures.
 - Conducts case management meetings of relevant parties as appropriate.
 - Ensures consistent communication is maintained with People Success Partners.
 - Statistical tracking and provision of metrics for disability claims and absences in general.
 - Serves as the central point of contact for working-out-of-province requests and enquiries.
 
General P & C Labour Relations Support
- Assists the Manager, Employee & Labour Relations with special projects as needed (coordination of orientations, meetings, etc.).
 - Assists with the documentation of Labour Relations processes and procedures.
 
General People Operations Support
- Assists the Manager, People Operations with special projects as needed.
 - Coordinates OH&S Committee meetings maintain agendas and takes minutes.
 - As needed, assists with payroll related work.
 - As needed, assists with the documentation of People operations processes and procedures.
 
Minimum Qualifications
- 1 - 2 years of related experience.
 - Certificate in Human Resources.
 - An equivalent combination of directly related education and experience may be considered.
 
Preferred Qualifications
- 3-4 years of related experience.
 - General office administration experience.
 - Human Resources experience.
 - Strong Microsoft Office Skills particularly in Outlook, Word and Excel.
 - Strong interpersonal skills.
 - Strong customer service skills.
 - Strong communication skills.
 - Ability to multi-task.
 - Knowledge of HR policies and procedures.
 - Sensitivity and respect of confidentiality.
 - An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
 
This is a full-time, temporary position.
