Junior Engineering Technologist

(full-time permanent position)

This position involves (but not limited to):

  • This position includes both field and office work, including soil, groundwater and surface water sampling, and associated data analysis and reporting;
  • Assist with Phase One and Two Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs) and Excess Soil Management including historical records searches, completing site reconnaissance, soil sampling during subsurface investigations, groundwater sampling following monitoring well installation, elevation surveys, completion of borehole logs and report writing;
  • Assist with hydrogeological studies and environmental monitoring including MECP well searches, groundwater monitoring, soil investigation, geological characterization, and identification of sensitive areas;
  • Assist with investigation and remediation at impacted sites;
  • Working with other engineering disciplines to achieve project goals;
  • Certain assignments may require that you work outside of normal work hours;


Professional Knowledge and
Qualifications:

  • Candidates are required to have 0 to 5 years of experience
  • E.T. designation (or working toward designation); C.Tech. designation also considered
  • Excellent communication skills (oral and written)
  • Working proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint, etc.
  • Experience and/or knowledge of Environmental Site Assessment process, soil and groundwater sampling experience, understanding of drilling/boring and test pitting processes
  • Knowledge of soils, geochemistry, environmental legislation an asset
  • Knowledge of CAD an asset
  • In this role there is an expectation for both office and field work
  • Ability to work effectively in a team setting, and independently
  • Possess a valid driver's licence and have access to a personal vehicle.
