Reporting to the Director, Software Engineering, the Jr. Software Engineer Intern will embark on an opportunity to learn, influence, and provide input into the change and evolution of software products, join a vibrant and inclusive community, and experience how the financial industry works from an insider’s vantage-point.
The Jr. Software Engineer Intern will join the Canadian development team in undertaking application development projects. Under the guidance of the senior team members, he/she will perform requirement analysis, develop programs in Java, complete application testing, and update/maintain project documents.
The Jr. Software Engineer Intern will report to the Director while working under specific direction and guidance of the senior team members.
Summer Internship: May 2023 - August 2023
Key Job Functions/Responsibilities

Work closely with the Canadian Development team to perform application tests and provide feedback

Work with our business team to perform analysis on client requirements

Participate in application development

Create and update system documents as required

Research where required to assist development team

Provide timely updates to the manager
Basic Skill Level Requirements
Education:
-
Currently enrolled in 2nd or 3rd year University Degree or College Diploma program in Computer Science, Software Engineering or Computer Engineering
Experience:
-
Programming Experience in Java or another object-oriented language is required
-
Experience in Web Development, including HTML, Javascript and CSS
-
Good working knowledge in relational databases, such as SQL and DB2
-
Experience in using industry standard development tools, such as Eclipse and GitLab
-
Experience in AWS Cloud will be an asset
Skills:

Excellent analytical and communications skills

Ability to perform routine assignments in the entry level job progression

Ability to work in a fast paced and dynamic environment to deliver high-quality software
