An IT Support & Production Specialist will work alongside our managers to provide Ascendent/Infiniti's customers with best-in-class technical assistance for our EO/IR and supporting products as well as working in the production of these products.

There is a large overlap between traditional IT and networking support and the electro-optics industry; applicants with strong IT backgrounds will have an excellent foundation, and on-the-job training will be provided for industry specific skills and knowledge. During the training process, your experienced colleagues and team leaders will guide and coach you to achieve success in your new role.

A successful candidate will work as part of a dynamic team which produces cutting edge electro-optics systems including thermal imaging, laser illuminators, weapons-grade pan/tilt positioning systems and long range color cameras. In addition to working in production, they will utilize their technical knowledge skills to resolve product-related issues received by phone, e-mail, or live chat services. They will be part of a collaborative team and play a key role in Infiniti's commitment to create a positive experience for all our customers.

What your day will look like:

• Build and complete testing/quality control of EO/IR systems
• Handle incoming calls, e-mails, and chats
• Understand, analyze, and troubleshoot customer’s technical issues (many will be based on TCP/IP networking or basic serial communication)
• Properly document all customer issues
• Collaborate with team members
• Escalate unresolved issues when needed
• Produce documentation and manuals as needed

Requirements:

• Basic networking principles and understanding of TCP/IP networks
• Ability to troubleshoot hardware and software issues
• Excellent written and verbal communication
• Willingness to learn and understand new technology is essential for success
• Have sound judgement and capability of making decisions under pressure
• Follow priorities set by team leaders
• Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills
• Ability to work in fast paced environments with professionalism and confidence
• Willingness to work from 9AM to 5PM with occasional evenings and weekends (as required)

Assets (not required):

• Technical degree and/or certification in IT/Electronics field
• Knowledge of Windows and Linux Operating Systems
• Comptia A+, Network+, Security+, certifications are an asset
• 2+ years experience in IT/technical troubleshooting or technical support environment
• Experience with IP Video surveillance technology
• Experience with Single Board Computers; Raspberry Pi, Jetson Nano, etc
• Experience with serial communication (RS232, RS485, RS422, TTL, etc)
• Programming experience in Python, C, C++, etc
