We are looking for a Human Resources Manager for our Contract Logistics division/office based in Mississauga.

Your Role

The Human Resources Manager provides a broad range of HR support and consulting services to Distribution Centres within the Contract Logistics Department, serving as the primary Human Resources contact and advisor for management and employees. The Human Resources Manager implements and optimizes best HR and people practices to establish a positive employee and candidate experience. You will support management in achieving operational goals. You will also mitigate risks and ensure legal compliance while partnering with HR peers in the delivery of regional/national HR strategies and projects. You will be reporting directly to the National Manager, Human Resources. #LI-Hybrid

Your Responsibilities

  • Perform HR Generalist function supporting the sites with and providing (creative) solutions regarding performance management, employee engagement and retention, (high-volume) recruitment and selection, learning & development, compensation and benefits, talent acquisition and HR administration
  • Support management in the execution of company business strategies and the operational performance on site, to align HR strategy and actions with goals
  • Partner with site leadership to provide a positive workplace environment and employee engagement
  • Provide coaching and counselling to managers regarding HR, performance and people management and transformation
  • Establish a positive and engaging relationship with all employees
  • Be the onsite contact for all employee’s issues and concerns
  • Analyze trends and metrics as they apply to assigned business groups; use data and analysis to provide insight for decision-making and provide appropriate interventions to achieve team goals and increase employee engagement, performance and retention
  • Attend meetings with customers, including presentations on HR topics where required
  • Provide daily advice, counsel and guidance to ensure fair employment practices and follow-up on compliance regarding legislation and procedures
  • Conduct investigations and recommend and develop solutions to employee complaints or claims of unfair treatment, harassment and discrimination

Your Skills and Experiences

  • 5+ years progressive HR experience.
  • Knowledge of employment laws across Canada. Familiar with legislation surrounding human rights, recruitment, workers compensation, equal employment opportunity, wage and hour regulation, benefits.
  • Experience working with responsibility for maintaining the confidential nature of relationships with managers and employees.
  • HR Certification considered an asset
