HR Generalist (Part-Time) Job at Little Canada

Little Canada is on a hunt for qualified and resourceful HR Generalists to support our People, Culture and Wellness team in ensuring smooth and efficient HR operations. The HR Generalist will have both administrative and strategic responsibilities, helping the company to plan and administer important functions, such as staffing, training and development, HRIS management, policies and procedures, performance management and health and safety.

What you will be doing:

· Recruits, interviews, and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.

· Conducts or acquires background checks and employee eligibility verifications.

· Implements new hire orientation and employee recognition programs.

· Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.

· Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training.

· Maintains compliance with federal, and provincial employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.

· Creates regular reports and presentations on HR Metrics (turnover rates, attrition rate)

· Administer benefits enrollment plan

· Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.

· Performs other duties as assigned.

What you will possess:

· Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required.

· At least two to five years of human resource management experience preferred.

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

· Experience with ADP is considered an asset

· Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.

· Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

· Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.

· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

· Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.

· Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.

· Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.

· Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

· Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization’s HRIS and talent management systems.

Working Conditions

· This role will be based at 10 Dundas East, in the heart of downtown Toronto.

· Little Canada is open 364 days a year. Shift work and weekend work will be required on occasion to understand the business, the guest and the experience.

· Be willing to follow all health & safety policies and procedures and wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required.
