We are currently recruiting full-time Harvest Associate at our facility in Ancaster, ON. The Harvest team is a unique connection between Processing and Cultivation departments. Responsibilities and focus change week to week as the harvest schedule changes.

Candidates must be 19 years old + to apply for this position.

Schedule: Full-time, Monday to Friday | 6:30 am to 2:30 pm

Rate: $18.64/hour CAD

Main Duties

  • Ensure safe work conditions and practices as outlined in the company Safety, Health & Environmental policies.
  • Adhere to Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) for Good Production Practices (GPP).
  • Main responsibilities are focused on the cutting, take down and staging of matured plants in totes for harvest.
  • Post harvest clean up and waste collection are the focus once the days harvest quota is meet.
  • Other tasks as needed can include: defoliation, super cropping, topping, flushing, foliar and preventative sprays, trimming, packaging, waste disposal and inventory management.
  • Physically moving plants via carts and by hand.
  • Basic Plant Maintenance.
  • Working with other Staff members, Leads and Supervisors to support department requirements.
  • Ensure compliance of company safety and quality procedures.
  • Ensure cleanliness of facility at all times by doing various tasks such as sweeping, mopping and sanitizing tools and equipment.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge with GPP and GMP is preferred
  • Prior experience working with plants or in a Greenhouse environment is considered an asset
  • General labour experience would be an asset
  • Interpersonal skills are required for daily interactions with shop floor personnel
  • Manual functions require good hand / eye co-ordination
  • Position requires standing, lifting, and walking throughout the day

Working Conditions:

  • This is a greenhouse working environment, which may have continuous exposure to heat, light and humidity.
  • May be required to work on weekends and during holidays, from time to time.

Physical Requirements:

  • This position is physically demanding and requires the ability to lift/move heavy objects (up to 50lbs), standing and bending.
  • Manual functions require good hand / eye co-ordination.
  • Position requires standing, bending, lifting, and walking throughout the day.
