Job Description
General Manager
Reporting to the VP Business Operations, the General Manager will be accountable for the overall success and profitability of Penguin Meat Supply, a division of Centennial Foodservice. This will be achieved by leading the team in Surrey in all aspects of business operations. Duties include:
- Maintain a positive environment that enhances the employees’ work experience and job security; Lead by example and create an environment of leadership development
 - Communicate performance standards to all staff and ensure they receive proper training, mentoring, and coaching to meet their goals
 - Build a culture of continuous improvement
 - Conduct performance reviews on all key employees to develop performance improvement plans; set new goals and discuss their concerns
 - Keep employees informed of any changes to company policies, practices, and procedures
 - Work with employees to ensure a strong culture of safety, quality, and cooperation
 - Ensure all operating standards are achieved
 - Work with leadership to Manage production, logistics, procurement, and warehousing
 - Support the sales team and its objectives
 - Develop and execute business plans, budgets, and forecasts
 - Ensure accurate and timely reporting
 - Champion and enforce the Code of Conduct and CFS policies and procedures
 - Ensure adherence to CFS Health and Safety Programs and initiatives
 - Ensure that standards for Quality, Sanitation and Food Safety are met or exceeded
 - Be a Brand Champion, lead and support major customer interactions
 - Lead Change and innovation to meet corporate objectives
 - Other Duties as assigned
 
Qualifications
- 5-15 years progressive management experience, or; a combination of post-secondary education and experience will also be considered
 - 5-15 years Food Industry experience preferred
 - Strong leadership and organizational skills
 - Ability to communicate effectively with all stakeholders
 - Ability and willingness for intermittent travel
 - Post-secondary Education in Commerce and or Business Administration considered an asset
 - Lean Six Sigma experience considered an asset
 - Excellent decision making and problem-solving skills required
 - Intermediate (or higher) level computer skills required - MS Office, Enterprise Resource Planning Software
 - Position location is Surrey, BC
