Front Desk Manager Job at Holiday Inn Express and Suites Oshawa
Holiday Inn Express & Suites Oshawa is looking for 2 Front Desk Managers to join our team immediately. The Front Desk Managers will assist the General Manager to manage the daily operations of the Front Desk. Our hotel, and the place of business you will report to, is located at 67 Simcoe Street North, Oshawa, ON L1G 4S3.
This is a permanent, full-time position of 40 hours per week. Weekly schedule will vary based on the needs of the hotel, and may include both evening and weekend shifts. The Front Desk Managers will receive a salary of $27.00/hour along with eligibility for benefits after 3 months of employment (including medical and dental). Overtime pay of 1.5x will be provided after 44 hours/week. The language of work for this position is English.
The main responsibilities for this position include:
- Leading, overseeing and supervising the Front Desk Agents to ensure the seamless arrival and departure process for our guests;
- Preparing work and break schedules for Front Desk Agents to ensure that the hotel’s front desk is consistently staffed appropriately based on hotel occupancy and guest demand;
- Assessing guests’ individual needs to ensure that they receive prompt, professional attention and personal recognition;
- Responding to and addressing guest inquiries, feedback or complaints in a timely manner to ensure guest satisfaction;
- Acting as liaison with key departments coordinating assignments and activities to ensure a seamless delivery of our services while assessing and improving our guest service levels;
- Training Front Desk Agents as needed, ensuring all service standards and safety procedures are consistently followed;
- Providing feedback on performance of Front Desk Agents to staff and senior management;
- Assisting and serving the front desk as a Front Desk Agent on duty when needed;
- Overseeing the Hotel’s policies and procedures to ensure team members are following these standards and safety protocols to meet business and guests’ needs;
- Maintaining adequate stock of supplies and submitting requisition orders when necessary;
- Ensuring all required supplies and equipment are available and properly functioning; and
- Providing personalized and exceptional guest service at every given opportunity.
You must have the following qualifications:
- Completion of High School diploma;
- Experience working in the hospitality/hotel industry in customer-facing roles;
- Experience working in a supervisory role is an asset;
- Computer literate with experience working with Microsoft Office products; and
- Ability to communicate in French is an asset.
