PHOENIX EDUCATION & LEARNING CENTRE is expanding to Sudbury.

PHOENIX is looking for amazing French tutors to work with students in kindergarten - grade 12.

Do you thrive in educational environments and have a passion for teaching?

Do you have at least 2 years of tutoring/teaching experience?

Are you a university graduate, or currently completing your degree?

If yes, we might be a good fit!

Phoenix is looking for applicants who:

- Have a passion for learning and understand the impact they make in a student’s life.

- Love those ‘light-bulb’ moments!

- Really enjoy tutoring.

- Are friendly, outgoing, approachable, and don't shy away from a challenge.

- Not intimidated by student's parents/guardians.

- Very knowledgeable of the Ontario curriculum, and have experience working with it.

- Ability to think on their feet, and able to plan innovative and creative tutoring sessions.

- Have some availability (1 - 3 days) withinafter school hours (4:00 pm - 9:00 pm) Monday - Friday, and during the day on Saturday or Sunday (9:00 am - 5:00 pm).

- Live in Sudbury, and comfortable commuting to a student's home to tutor.

Some responsibilities:

- Plan lessons & activities that are personalized to meet each student’s learning needs & goals.

- Accurately document and assess student's academic progress.

- Communicate with parents/guardians about their child's academic progress.

- Complete trial sessions (paid) with potential students.

- Think on your feet and able to change the direction of the lesson when necessary.

- Participate in team meetings.

Please note the following before finalizing your application:

If hired:

- Must be able to travel to the student's home in Sudbury, and arrive on time. This is an in-person, in-home tutoring position.

- Must submit a clean police check with vulnerable sector.

- Must be punctual for each tutoring session.

- Tutoring contract is January 2022 – September 1, 2023.
