Forklift Operator (Cold Environment)

A leading company in Montreal is now hiring a Forklift Operator to help the team to keep growing.

Job Description / Duties

• Proven experience as a forklift operator at least 2 years.
• Comfortable working in cold environment. (we will provide you gear required.)
• Valid certification to operate forklift. i.e., Narrow-aisle reach truck, ride-on electric walkie (jigger), sit-down counter-balance forklift.
• Excellent physical condition and coordination.
• Ensure proper health and safety regulations are followed
• Keep track of the location of goods
• Report any damaged or lost goods
• Move goods from one location to another
• Transport cold packed items from one place to another
• Perform routine maintenance on the forklift
• Store the forklift back in the proper place
• Perform inspections on the forklift
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs sometimes.
• Must be able to drive propane with both the feet.
• Detail oriented and perform all tasks as per company’s safety standards.
• Should be able to work for 8 hours shift.
• Locate and move stock of products to pallets or crates for storage or shipment.
• Check the temperature of a product being received or verifying and checking that a carrier reefer is properly set to the correct temperature.

Qualifications / Requirements

• A high school diploma or equivalent general education
• Certified to operate heavy machinery
• Ability to work independently
• Ability to follow proper safety procedures
• Ability to pass a background test
• Ability to maintain a safe working area
• Knowledge of heavy machinery
• Great time management and organizational skills
• Warehouse experience
• Safety shoes is mandatory
• French would be an advantage

Schedule:

• 10 hour shift
• 8 hour shift
• Monday to Friday
• Overtime

Ability to commute/relocate:

• Saint-Laurent, QC: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

Experience:

• Forklift: 1 year (required)
