Trade Finance Analyst

The Trade Finance Analyst will be based out of Dieppe, New Brunswick (100 Midland Drive, E1A 7G9). Supporting the Trade Finance Manager, the trade analyst will be a dedicated resource that reviews, monitors, investigates, and reports on customer pricing, trade spend inputs and gross profit variances (volume/mix) for actuals, forecast and budget. They will be a cross functional resource supporting the Finance, Sales Finance, and Sales teams. This is a permanent, full-time position. The primary language of work is English.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree (Commerce/Business or Accounting)
• Attainment of or working towards accounting or financial designation desired
• 2 to 3+ years’ experience in Finance & Accounting (Sales Finance and CPG experience desired)
• Advanced proficiency in Excel
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Detail oriented
• Desire to drive process improvements
• Strong communication skills due to contact with Sales & External customers
• Ability to work well independently and with a team
• Ability to adapt to a fast paced, dynamic working environment

The main duties/responsibilities of this role include:

Weekly Gross Profit Analysis:

• Create and validate weekly revenue and gross profit report, including initial analysis and commentary for distribution to the Finance organization
• Prepare in-depth detailed reviews and follow ups for corrective actions required
• Monitor and recommend requirements for period end accruals

Monthly Customer Forecast:

• Analyze monthly forecast for accurate NRBF, freight and COGS inputs
• Collaborate with Sales Finance and Sales to ensure any approved future opportunities are reflected in forecast (price changes, trade agreements, mix changes, etc.)
• Make corrective entries for any discrepancies found in forecast and coordinate corrections to actuals with Finance and/or Sales
• Assist in creating forecast commentary for executive review meetings

Annual Budget Planning:

• Review various exception reports to identify missing customer pricing inputs at the sku level (NBOI, OI, etc.)
• Analyze customer profitability variances for budget versus current year forecast and communicate to cross function teams
• Work with cross function teams to make corrective actions as identified in the analysis

Other:

• Trade management system (PTP) data reviews for completeness and accuracy of trade accruals
• Ad hoc requests from cross function teams
