Castle Hall is an entrepreneurial, dynamic and fast moving company that is looking to add a Due Diligence Analyst to our team. This role responds to increasing demand for Castle Hall’s services, and the firm’s commitment to continued growth.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conduct operational due diligence interviews with global asset managers across various strategies and sizes, including but not limited to hedge fund, private equity, venture capital, real estate, direct lending, and cryptocurrencies mandates
  • Communicate with institutional investors / global allocators to relay operational due diligence findings and proactively support our clients’ investment decision making processes
  • Document findings in detailed due diligence reports, including written narrative and identification of risk factors
  • Make recommendations to asset managers regarding key areas of improvement
  • Contribute to the development of operational best practice in the alternative investment industry
  • Maintain a high level of awareness of financial market news and its impact on the hedge fund and private capital space
  • Review and analyze key fund documents (e.g. prospectus, financial statements, contracts and compliance documentation)
  • Review and verify fund and management company data maintained within Castle Hall’s extensive due diligence database
  • Other duties may be assigned related to client servicing, sales, special projects, attending, conferences, travelling, big data / fintech related platform projects

DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • A Bachelor’s degree in finance, commerce, business, accounting, sciences, or a related discipline
  • Demonstrated intellectual curiosity and willingness to take on challenges in analyzing complex organizations and control environments, including accounting, operational, and valuation issues faced by asset managers
  • Aspire to develop a career path in the operational due diligence sector within the alternative investment industry
  • Exceptional attention to detail, combined with excellent English Written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to produce quality work under pressure and tight deadlines
  • Confidence and maturity to relay due diligence findings to institutional investors and become a trusted advisor to global asset allocators
  • Relevant work experience in the financial service industry would be considered an asset
  • Highly organized with ability to alternate between working in a team based environment and independently
  • Exceptional writing and communication skills
  • Pre-existing understanding of hedge fund, private equity, and other investment company structures, terms and conditions will be an advantage
  • Candidates may have professional designations such as CAIA, CFA, or CPA, CA or have made progress towards one of these designations
  • Character, ambition and drive to succeed within a dynamic industry and fast growing company are critical

The candidate must hold a bachelor's of commerce majoring ideally in finance or related field.
