We are looking for a customer service and sales associate with a knowledge of and passion for
propagation, nursery production, urban forestry or other related areas to lead this thriving and
important area of our business. This is a full-time, in-house position with opportunities for career

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Develop a thorough understanding of A.M.A.’s solutions-oriented approach and our

business lines, especially growing media and substrates, including the horticultural markets
we serve

  • As the key Propagation & Substrates account associate, maintain a portfolio of propagation
growers – specifically for RootSmart™, Ellepots by A.M.A. and Air Tray® Technologies
  • Coordinate and oversee with production supervisor and logistics to ensure smooth
execution of all Ellepot and pre-fill orders from production to dispatch to order fulfillment as
customer after-sales service
  • Oversee production of Ellepots by A.M.A. as it relates to quality control, BMP, soil testing,
maintaining order tracking records, etc.
  • Develop new portfolio of Ellepot customers based on market (nursery, orchard, native,
forestry, perennial, organic, etc.). Generate commercial leads, organize trials and educate

  • Research and identify opportunities for sustainable horticultural solutions, especially as they
relate to propagation and nursery production
  • Support all aspects of customer service, including information gathering, order-taking,
processing and follow-ups
  • Create and manage records
  • Monitor horticultural trends and participate in key educational opportunities (webinars, trade
shows, conferences, etc.)
  • Assist with tradeshows, seminars, email marketing and market research as requested
  • Represent A.M.A. on the “Greening the Urban Landscape” Research Consortium in

conjunction with Vineland Innovation & Research Centre and other relevant research groups
and member associations

  • Build sustainable relationships and trust with customers through open and interactive
communication
  • Support and/or lead special projects + ad hoc duties as needed
Essential Background & Skills
  • The ideal candidate possesses a post-secondary degree/certificate in Horticulture,

Agriculture or Business/Marketing, and/or has 5+ years of horticulture or agriculture
experience

  • Experience in propagation, nursery production, urban forestry or related horticultural field
  • Interest in enhancing sustainability within the horticulture industry
  • Strong oral and written communication
  • Strong ability to use effective listening skills, communicate with clarity, build rapport quickly

and maintain an attitude that conveys respect, assistance, honesty, integrity and
resourcefulness

  • Strong ability to research, think critically, problem solve and exercise good judgement when
answers are not apparent
  • Strong ability to multi-task and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to handle confidential information with tact and discretion
  • Ability to maintain punctual and regular attendance
  • Proficient computer skills – Microsoft Excel, Word, PPT, Outlook, Sage, Zoom
  • French, Dutch or Spanish language skills an asset
