Cornerstone Co-op invites applications for the position of Cashier to join our Food Store team on a part-time basis at our location in Vermilion, AB. Reporting to the Assistant Food Store Manager. The suitable candidate must be able to work day shifts throughout the week.

What you’ll do:

• Work Monday - Friday from 8am-5pm
• Engage and interact with member-owners and customers to provide outstanding Co-op experiences
• Operate till (Point of Sale System), processing customer transactions.
• Handle cash, credit or cheque transactions
• Ensure pricing is correct
• Count money in cash drawers at the beginning and end of shift to ensure there is accuracy
• Make sale referrals, cross-sell products and introduce new products
• Resolve customer complaints, guide them and provide relevant information
• Process returns and check to see if items are damaged
• Ensure the register area is clean and tidy
• Maintain checkout operations by following policies and procedures and reporting needed changes
• Engage and interact with member-owners and customers to provide outstanding Co-op experiences
• Follow proper maintenance and housekeeping duties
• Utilize proper safety protocols
• Perform other duties as assigned

• You have a combination of relevant experience; previous retail experience would be an asset
• You’re able to lift 50lb on a regular basis
