Construction Site Superintendent

THE OPPORTUNITY

Sealand has an opportunity for a Construction Site Superintendent to lead and direct construction field crews for multiple projects. This position requires travel weekly throughout the Maritimes.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead + Manage Sealand field team and trade contractors
  • Responsible for the day-to-day management of project sites
  • Deep understanding of Project Schedule | Contract Documents | Scope of Work | Design
  • Work closely with Project Team:

o Manage schedule, procurement, trade contractor packages, crew schedule, site safety

o Troubleshoot to keep the project moving forward

o Help negotiate changes to trade contracts and ensure changes are captured

o Develop contingency plans to mitigate potential risks to projects

  • Site Safety including:

o Strong advocate and leader of Sealand’s Health & Safety Program

o Communicate regularly with Sealand Director of Health & Safety to ensure everyone on site is safe, are working safely and that site is in compliance

o Complete Daily Hazard Assessment, Supervisor Logs, Site Inspections, Toolbox Talks

QUALIFICATIONS

  • You have extensive field experience leading and directing construction field crews and trade contractors.
  • You are a strong communicator and comfortable having tough conversations when site safety or schedule is at risk
  • You can read and interpret architectural drawings.
  • You have attention to detail and the ability to creatively solve problems.
  • You understand construction terms, activities, and sequences.
  • You are willing to travel throughout the Maritimes and have a valid driver’s license
  • You are comfortable working in varying weather conditions.
  • You are physically fit and able to work on your feet for 8 – 10 hours per day.

Salary: $65,723.66-$145,485.98 per year
