About the Department of Facilities Management

Facilities Management is responsible for the planning, development, construction, design, operation, maintenance, safety, and stewardship of all the buildings, infrastructure, sites and services within Mount Royal's campus community. Through efficient and environmentally sustainable operation, we offer Grounds, Custodial, Building Operations, Facilities Planning, and Engineering professional services to provide a physical environment that supports and enhances our academic space for students and staff. Facilities Management is also responsible for the official space inventory which includes capacity, categories, types and current assignment of spaces. As part of keeping an updated inventory, space audits are done annually.


About the Role

Mount Royal University’s Department of Facilities Management is seeking 2 Database Clerks for a temporary full-time position from June 1 to August 31, 2023. The role will be a five day a week position, requiring up to one evening shift per week; 35 hours weekly.

The Space Audit Clerk will complete the space audit which involves visual space inspections and entering data into the space database; as well as other space information updates as required.


Responsibilities

  • Visual check of approximately 10,000 individual space on campus

  • Updating the space database in the Archibus Space Module

  • Conducting a condition assessment for each space and furnishings

  • Creating work requests for required maintenance in Archibus Building Operations Module

  • Comparing drawings to actual space lay-out to ensure that they match

  • Identifying architectural finishes such as types of flooring, paint, lighting, furniture set-up, etc

  • Work with finish schedules and plans to populate room finishes database in Archibus

  • Assist Drawings and Document Specialist in building/updating drawings database

  • Review signage information and verify signage installation

  • Other duties as assigned


Qualifications

  • Strong interpersonal skills, time management skills and communications skills

  • Competent computer skills including MS Office and Google Sheets/Docs

  • Proven ability to work independently, accurately, and prioritize tasks to meet timelines efficiently

  • Must be physically capable of being on their feet for long periods of time (walking and standing)

  • Detail oriented

  • AUTOCAD skills an asset but not required

  • Knowledge of construction documentation is beneficial

  • As this position may come across highly sensitive materials, the ability to exercise discretion on confidential matters IS A MUST



Salary: $20 Hourly
