Business Operations Lead - DFS Canada


The Business Operation Lead’s primary goal is to lead efforts that improve business operations while delivering industry leading customer experience for the Canadian Digital Farming Solutions (DFS) business.


Bayer is committed to a flexible hybrid working environment. This is a permanent position ideally based in either Calgary, Alberta or Guelph, Ontario.


What you will do:


  • Establish and maintain overall strategy for the Canadian operations team driving customer centric operating procedures and processes, optimizing usage and features within our CRM software and provide timely reporting and metrics to teams across the organization.
  • The leader of this team will develop strong relationships with regional operations leads, global enablement, commercial teams and engineering teams to be able to identify opportunities for collaboration, prioritize requests and advocate for Canadian business.
  • Own and identify the communication strategy to appropriate levels throughout the organization, including peers, leadership and internal/external stakeholders to drive strategic and operational efficiencies across operations relaying the appropriate information in the correct medium.
  • Identify opportunities to improve our employee experience by addressing concerns through adopting new technologies and implement proactive work streams with key stakeholders in Product Management, Enablement or Engineering teams to enable tools that can improve efficiency and productivity.
  • Analyze and review current support issues and future product needs and proactively assist in prioritizing the support & maintenance JIRAs escalations, product development workflow as well as engineering customer support tools.
  • Empower our Regional Experience Advocates to establish and implement a team strategy impacting, reflecting, and promoting all our digital tools utilized by all our customers to increase engagement and uptake.
  • Work with key stakeholders to build a long-term roadmap for training and developing support staff. Address new training needs as new features are created. Help create training content that can be used for support and field reps and consistently launches training programs globally.
  • Develop and maintain in-depth product knowledge, knowledge base and community platforms for all digital products and new business models (NBM’s).
  • Identify cost savings programs through capturing, reporting and expanding across the production network to drive savings
  • Oversee the execution of order management, order fulfillment and billing tasks working closely with global enablement and the commercial team to ensure order to cash requirements are in place for GTM, programs, sales reporting.
  • Manage the structure and content development of Knowledge Center.
  • Communicate and engage across the organization to ensure connectivity, coordinate efforts for efficiencies and foster collaboration across Bayer associated customer

Who you are:


  • BA/BS degree required in Agriculture, Business or similar field.
  • Experience with the FieldView product or similar Digital Ag platform and passionate about the customer experience in the Digital Ag space
  • 7/+ years' experience in leading a team supporting customers, users and/or farmers
  • Experience in managing a large team while empowering team leads to make decisions

Preferred Qualifications:

    • Experience performing front line support, building support teams for a rapidly growing technology company
    • Experience with Salesforce or another CRM solution
    • Comprehension of the challenges and best practices of developing and deploying initiatives that scale, preferably in the agricultural or software industry
    • Demonstrated ability to effectively work cross functionally with key stakeholders
    • Proven ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously and thrive in a fast-paced environment
    • Self-directed with strong initiative and effective organizational skills
    • Excellent verbal, written and communication skills
    • Experience with farm equipment connectivity and data streaming: GPS, OEM displays and rate control systems
    • Ability to travel up to 10% a year
