About this role:

The Senior Manager, Health & Rehabilitation reports to the Director, Employee Health & Safety and applies an understanding of LDB operations and comprehensive knowledge of PSA policies and collective and component agreements to manage the provision of services within related to employee health, including attendance management, disability case management, and medical accommodations. This position is also responsible for the direction of a team of Disability Case Management Advisors, Claims Coordinators, and a Kinesiologist.

The Senior Manager, Health & Rehabilitation is responsible for providing advice and guidance to senior leadership that promotes and fosters support for ill and injured employees returning to work. This role is also responsible for driving initiatives and programs to increase efficiencies and enhance the programs and services related to disability management, which includes attendance management, health, and rehabilitation programs. This position participates in strategic program development, design, and administration that reduces sick time through return-to-work initiatives that focus on early intervention.

A criminal record check is required.

Special requirements and working conditions include the ability to travel overnight within the Province of British Columbia.

Position requirements:

Education and Experience:

Degree or diploma in disability management or related program with a minimum of three (3) years’ recent, related experience* in disability management.

OR

an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered, i.e., a minimum of five (5) years of recent, related experience* in disability management.

  • Recent and related experience must have occurred in the last eight (8) years and must include the following:
  • Experience with complex case management that focuses on early intervention and return to work planning.
  • Extensive experience in leadership and building high performing teams.
  • Interpreting and applying legislation, policy, and contract or collective agreement language.

Preferred qualifications include:

  • Working in a unionized environment.
  • Conducting reviews and/or appeals for third-party interventions.
  • Experience in disability management program development and implementation.
  • Experience in the management of Attendance Programs and reducing sick time.
