Tri-global Solutions Group Inc. is seeking one (1) Senior Technology Architect (Audio/Video) to join our talented Service Delivery team at Ministry of Technology and Innovation (Government of Alberta) to support the Hybrid Worker's Productivity Project.

The successful contractor(s) have an anticipated June 1, 2023 start date for an initial 10-month contract (ending March 31, 2024) with 6-month extension available (total contract term up to 16-months).

NOTES ON LOCATION: The successful candidate will work remotely, though must be available for onsite meetings when required. This role may require a weekly on-site meeting, as well as potential site visits where warranted. Work must be done from within Alberta, due to network and data security policies. Standard Hours of work are 08:15 - 16:30 Alberta time.

PROJECT OVERVIEW

An Audio/Video Architect is required to help with Hybrid Worker's Productivity Project:

  • Upgrade PC's/laptops of targeted users and/or buildings
  • Upgrade boardrooms in identified buildings (TBD)

ADDITIONAL DETAILS

  • Review and revision of audio visual designs, tenders and specifications to ensure the alignment with AV system functions and applicable design guidelines: current system compatibility and future system strategies.
  • Design and Architecture: develop new designs and specifications to best suit the current and future AV needs.
  • Develop functional descriptions and technical specifications of AV systems for use in tenders, instructional material and specification documents.
  • Work closely with procurement staff to develop new tender documents containing requirements as listed above.
  • Provide expert Audio Visual advise.

DESCRIPTION OF SERVICES

  • Research and evaluate latest technology trends.
  • Architect new IT services, develop solution paper and test plans.
  • Evaluate current services, recommend remedial actions where required.
  • Assist in determining hardware/software requirements.
  • Collaborate with multi-disciplined teams on proof of concept and limited production roll outs.
  • Provide quality control on production implementations.
  • Communicate operation guidelines and policies to the clients.
  • Apply and interpret how the operation guidelines enhance the ministry’s way of doing business.
  • Review new services and technology requests by business area and assess their impact on the operational environment, giving recommendations for remediation.
  • Assist in developing project plans, schedules, and estimates pertaining to architectural deployment and services delivery.
  • Assist in developing task lists and resource assignments within the context of architectural planning and deployments.
  • Assist with implementation of IT infrastructure;
  • Document technical recommendations and provide technical advice and guidance to management, operations and project team members and within shared IT services.
  • Ensure change management processes are followed.
  • Make recommendations to project team members pertaining to issues, risks and client satisfaction.
  • Provide tracking and reporting of time and status on all work as required.

MANDATORY SKILLS

- The proposed resource must meet or exceed one of the following: (8+ years)

  • University graduation in computer science, business, management, or a related discipline and 4-yr Technology Architect experience; OR
  • 2-yr diploma in computer science, business, management or a related discipline and 6-yr Technology Architect; OR
  • 1-yr certificate in computer science, business, management or a related discipline and 7-yr Technology Architect experience; OR
  • 8-yr Technology Architect experience

- Experience designing, planning, and implementing audio visual technology solutions in an architecture capacity for an environment equivalent in size and complexity to the Government of Alberta (5+ years)

- Experience supporting and troubleshooting audio visual technologies (5+ years)

- Proposed resource must work from within Alberta, due to network and data security policies. Standard Hours of work are 08:15 - 16:30 Alberta time.

DESIRABLE / NICE TO HAVE SKILLS

- Experience executing strategies with technology, process, organizational design and IT operations (5+ years)

- Experience working in an environment equivalent in size and complexity to the Government of Alberta (5+ years)

- Experience with security concepts, designs, and implementations (5+ years)

- Experience working with a variety of stakeholders, both internal and external and in all levels of the organization (5+ years)

- Experience developing tender requirements for Audio Visual projects (3+ years)

- Experience designing and implementing Crestron control and Video systems (1+ years)

- Experience designing and implementing Audio systems including mixers/amplifier specification, configuration, and commissioning (3+ years)

- Industry audio visual specialist credits such as: Crestron DM-NVX-N certification (preferred) or other Crestron, Extron, Biamp certifications (Yes or No)
