Accounting Technician

Under the direction of the Controller, this position is primarily responsible for performing accounting functions and ensuring the accuracy and completeness of records. This position will be responsible for the creation of invoicing packages and the monitoring of customer balances, unpaid invoices and unbilled work in progress. This position is located in Saskatoon, SK or La Ronge, SK.

Responsibilities:

  • Compiles invoicing documentation, prepares invoice package for approval and submits invoicing. Reviews outstanding receivables and prepares reports for management.
  • Reviews customer account balances and reports on outstanding amounts to management.
  • Reviews and compiles unbilled work in progress to report to customers as well as to management.
  • Prepares and enters journal entries for review and posting relating to accounts receivable.
  • Saskatoon position travels and stays in La Ronge to support the administration team on a periodic basis for vacation relief and as required.
  • Uses computer word processing, spreadsheet, and database software to prepare reports, memos, and documents.
  • Analyzes and prepares reports for senior management as requested.
  • Supports the accounting team on a variety of financial and accounting related assignments.
  • Perform other related duties as required.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience in a bookkeeping or accounting role with a high volume of financial data entry;
  • Minimum completion of a Highschool diploma or equivalent;
  • Post-secondary education in a related study is preferred;
  • Prior experience with data entry in a computerized software system is required;
  • Must demonstrate fundamental knowledge of bookkeeping principles;
  • Current valid SK driver’s license with the ability to work from the La Ronge office for Saskatoon position to perform administrative relief, for vacation periods, as needed (meals & accommodation allowance provided);
  • Demonstrates a high attention to detail and ability to analyze and interpret data;
  • Works well as part of a team, as well, as an independent contributor.
  • Demonstrates reliability, dependability and flexibility.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,000.00-$75,000.00 per year
