Accounting/Purchasing Clerk

Open To: Open Competition

Job Location: Catholic Education Centre, 46 Alliance Blvd., Barrie, Ontario

Position Type / Hours: Full-Time Permanent. Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 4:30pm, 35 hours weekly, plus overtime as required

Annual Compensation: $45,383.00 to $56,909.00 commensurate with education, skills and experience.

Specific duties and responsibilities include:

  • Research and analysis
  • Assisting in procurement processes
  • Training and financial reporting
  • Related administrative services in the areas of purchasing and accounts payable support

Required Skills and Qualifications:

The successful candidate will bring the following skills and experiences to the role:

  • 2 year college diploma in business or accounting
  • 1 year related experience is preferred
  • Demonstrated experience in purchasing and accounting processes
  • Working knowledge of the Broader Public Sector Procurement Directive
  • Demonstrated organizational, administrative and clerical skills
  • Proven ability to prioritize and perform multiple tasks to meet deadlines under pressure
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; as well as written and oral communication skills
  • Must have excellent customer service skills
  • Excellent computer skills using Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Ability to accurately enter, check, and proofread numerical information
  • Knowledge of SDS Financial Software is an asset
  • Previous experience training staff/peers
  • Strong collaboration skills, capable of working in an interdisciplinary team
  • Strong track record, demonstrating personal leadership and initiative with respect to job duties and responsibilities
  • As travel within the Board’s jurisdiction is required, candidates must possess a valid Ontario Driver’s license
