This position performs accounting and clerical work of considerable variety involving electronic banking processing and accounting transactions, account reconciliations including reconciliation of various balance sheet accounts, preparation of required journal entries and maintenance of related files and records. Duties also include the reconciliation of individual items to total amounts, the preparation of batches for processing, key entries, on-line editing, input and batch updating and the filing of source documents and other materials. More specifically, an employee will assist in the reconciliation of bank accounts, perform electronic banking processing daily including encashment, reconcile clearing accounts, investigate and resolve uncleared items, handle dishonoured and stale dated cheques and carry out projects as assigned. Speed and accuracy is also important when processing financial information. Performs related work as required.


Qualifications include High School graduation supplemented by bookkeeping and commercial/accounting courses plus sound related experience or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Proficiency in related computer software is required (i.e., Word, Excel) preferably used in an accounting environment. SAP experience and successful completion of one year in a recognized professional accounting program are considered assets.
