5 Ton Delivery Driver

We are Restwell Sleep Products, a fast growing privately owned and operated manufacturer and distributor of mattresses, foundations, and other related sleep products. Our manufacturing location is based in Surrey, BC and we are one of Western
Canada’s largest privately-owned mattress manufacturers. We supply hundreds of independently owned retail bedding and furniture stores in Western Canada with well-known brands such as Spring Air, NOVO Sleep, and Pure Energy.

The Position:
We are hiring for a 5 Ton Delivery Driver immediately to make deliveries, both local and long haul, to our Customers across the
Lower Mainland, Fraser Valley, Whistler/Squamish, North & South Vancouver Island and BC Interior & Okanagan Valley. This position requires the unloading of mattresses and bases/ box springs at some customer locations.

The 5 Ton Delivery Driver is also responsible for handling delivery slips and completing delivery paperwork & documents, performing pre-trip and post-trip inspections, maintaining logbooks and complying with the National Safety Code at all times.

Requirements:

• Valid and current Class 5 Driver’s License
• A minimum of 1 year 5 Ton driving experience is required
• Clean Driver’s Abstract
• Knowledge of BC highways and geography
• Ability to read, write and speak English
• Ability to lift up to 75 to 100 pound mattresses and box springs
• Excellent attendance, punctuality, and reliability
• Ability to take deliveries in inclement weather
• Ability to work early mornings, evenings or overnights if required
• Current legal authorization to work in Canada

Hours of Work & Schedule:
This role is a mix of part time and full-time hours. Deliveries depart our factory Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday each morning generally between the hours of 5:30 AM – 9 AM. Exact shift start, and end times will be based on the delivery schedule & whether the run is a local run or long haul run to the Vancouver Island or BC Interior.

Compensation & Benefits:

• $0.50/mile for all BC Interior long-haul runs (Kamloops/Kelowna/Okanagan Valley)
• $23.00 per hour for any local deliveries in Lower Mainland/Fraser Valley
• Flat rate for Vancouver Island Deliveries ($250 for Lower Island deliveries and $350 for Upper Island deliveries)
• Paid drops - $25 per drop including first drop
• Paid Wait Times after delays of 1 hour
• Paid flat rate for backhauls from the Island
• Quarterly safety bonus payout - $250 (up to $1000 annually)
• $50/month cell phone benefit allowance
• Bi-weekly pay via direct deposit
• $150 Workboot reimbursement per year
