The Edmonton Police Service is seeking a highly organized, self-motivated, and competent individual to provide support to the Employee Family Assistance Section (EFAS). Responsibilities will include:

  • Incumbent will be the first point of contact for any employee (both sworn and civilian) who seek assistance from the Employee Family Assistance Section, physically as well as through phone and email. Incumbent will be required to make the appropriate referrals in a timely manner, all while maintaining a high degree of confidentiality on the information received.
  • Responsible for all administrative and reception related duties for the Employee Family Assistance Section, which encompasses the Member Support Unit, Reintegration Unit, and Early Intervention Unit.
  • Dealing with highly confidential information relating to employees at all levels of the organization, and in some cases of peers of this position.
  • Maintaining the highest degree of confidentiality to ensure the credibility and trust of the Employee Family Assistance Section within the EPS.
  • Coordination of the Mandatory Wellness Evaluation program including referral to psychologists, coordination of review meetings and securing reports in a confidential folder.
  • Assisting members (sworn and civilian) who contact EFAS and make the appropriate referrals in a timely manner.
  • Diarizing all major events that the Critical Incident Stress Management Team attends.
  • Ensuring up to date and accurate information is available to all employees on the EPS Net Employee Supports page.
  • Administrative duties, including answering telephones, data entry, photocopying, scanning, shredding and other office related tasks.
  • Performing with a degree of independence and all routine work is expected to be completed with little to no direct supervision.
Qualifications:
  • Completion of the twelfth (12th) school grade including business subjects related to word and information processing or completion of an appropriate certificate program from an approved business school/college.
  • Minimum of two (2) years diversified word and information processing experience.
  • Strong Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook skills required.
  • Strong computer skills - ability to learn and work within Excel and Cority databases.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with a wide range of people and offer a high degree of customer service.
  • Ensuring that information for the Employee Family Assistance Section page on EPSnet is available, up to date and accurate for any EPS employees wishing to access, especially those in time of crisis. This will include the information for Counseling, Member Support, Reintegration, Early Intervention.
  • This position will also be responsible for updating CARM for all members of the Employee Family Assistance Section, tracking and filing Visa statements, maintaining budgetary information, and all forms of record keeping.
  • Proven high level of attention to detail.
  • Work experience in a role that requires a high degree of confidentiality and a demonstrated ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality.
  • Proven high level of discretion in dealing with highly confidential information.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills

  • As part of your pre-hire screening, you will be required to complete an Enhanced Security Clearance. Should you accept employment with the Edmonton Police Service you acknowledge and agree to participate in future Enhanced Security Re-Clearances at scheduled intervals or in any other circumstances, exigent or otherwise, as required by Human Resources Division.

Hours of Work:

33.75 hours per week, Monday – Friday. Hours of work may be subject to the terms and conditions of a variable hour of work program.

Salary Range:

82M, Salary Grade: 005, $23.66 - $29.38 (Hourly), $1,597.30 - $1,983.50 (Bi-Weekly), $41,690.05 - $51,769.02 (Annually).
