Looking for a new full-time Wire rope Splicer/ Production Labourer to join our Hercules SLR Calgary Team! This new team member will be someone who is mechanically inclined and willing to learn a new skill or enhance current ones. Reporting to the branch manager, the Wire Rope Splicer fabricates, and repairs wire rope and chain slings, performs testing and inspections of below the hook rigging equipment and prepares bulk wire rope orders cut to length based on customer requirements

Principle Responsibilities

• Cut wire rope and bend strands to meet specifications
• Ensure a quality product is produced, as per the company quality standards
• Performs all work with a focus on safety
• Organize, clean, and ensure overall maintenance of the rigging workspace
• Maintain an efficient production speed with minimal quality issues
• Responsible for inventory accuracy by recording items used in production
• Ensure inventory is stored in an appropriate manner to ease accessibility and identification, and reduce the potential for damage to products
• Performs general labour and/or maintenance work

Skills and Abilities

• Able to safely lift 50 lbs. from floor level to waist level
• Able to make basic math calculations
• Ability to operate a forklift

Required Knowledge and Training

• High school diploma, or equivalent
• Previous experience working with wire rope is considered a strong asset
• Legally entitled to work in Canada
