McCain Foods (Canada) has an immediate opening for a Vision Systems Technician. The Florenceville Potato Processing Plant has a new, state-of-the-art production line. If you like fast-paced work, enjoy trouble shooting and working with others apply today!


Qualifications:

  • Grade 12 or GED would be considered an asset
  • Successful completion of 90 day training period
  • Knowledge of computer operations an asset
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Ability to respond to unexpected circumstances calmly and responsibly
  • Ability to accept and embrace change in the day to day operations
  • Licensed dual trade preferred


Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Ensure operational accuracy of all vision systems in processing including defect removal equipment (Tomra and KEY), Welliver camera system and peel vision system.
  • Perform scheduled work in the Cutter / ADR area.
  • Engage OEM technical support when required
  • Participate in continuous improvement projects in the process area.
  • Participate and support Global BOPs initiatives.
  • Work with and train Cutter and ADR operators on standard work processes.
  • Break Blade Sharpening technician if needed.
  • Follow all GMP’S and employing a safe work strategy
  • Responsible for following established TQC/HACCP procedures that are in place throughout the process line
  • Carry out other duties as assigned by supervision.
  • Must be mechanically inclined
  • Must be able to work in a temperature varying environment
  • Must be able to work in a team atmosphere.
  • Must have good decision and trouble shooting skills
  • Willing to work shift work and weekends
  • Must possess good communication skills and be able to record legible results


Applicants must possess a good safety record and continually demonstrate “safety first.” Selection of employees for promotion is based upon such factors as ability, special training, experience, prior PEP Ratings, attendance, ability to meet the physical demands of the position, education, length of service, and involvement in additional assignments. Length of service will be the determining factor when all other factors are relatively equal. Testing may be required depending on the position applied for. Interviews will held as necessary and those selected for interview are determined based on meeting the criteria as noted above. An evaluation period will be used to determine the candidate’s suitability to the position. Shifts are subject to change and are not guaranteed due to scheduling demands.
