We’re looking to hire a talented and experienced Video Editor to join our busy production team.

The right person will have good technical knowledge, experience working with video editing software and is a natural storyteller.

Our future Video Editor understands composition, colour and sound. They know how important the music timing, rhythm and beat is for any video. This person is able to visualize directorial concepts and work according to a strict time schedule. A top-notch video editor can perfectly translate a director’s idea into a beautifully crafted film or video piece, worthy of broadcasting.

You’re right up our alley if you are a natural storyteller with a love for editing and after work Friday Beers or Kombucha!

About the Position

In this position you are responsible for taking raw footage shot by the crew and assembling it into a finished project that matches the client and director’s vision. Ultimately, as a Video Editor, you should be able to bring sight and sound together to tell a cohesive story.

Here is a list of what you’ll be responsible for:

  • Meeting with the producer or project manager to determine production vision
  • Reviewing and selecting the best raw material for the project
  • Manipulating film and video footage using modern editing techniques
  • Trimming footage and putting together a rough cut
  • Inserting dialog, sound effects, music, graphics and special effects
  • Ensuring the project follows a logical sequence
  • Consulting with the producer throughout the project
  • Creating the final cut for broadcasting
  • Updating notes in the project management software
  • Ensuring our servers have updated versions, projects and footage are properly tagged and organized

Where You’ll Work From

This position is located in our Regina studio at 1301 Broad Street. You’ll be setup with a top of the line editing suite.

Hours

We want everyone to have a great work-life balance. While there are sometimes deadlines that may require you to work OT we strive to stay within a 40 hour work week for you. We encourage you to take some extra time off when this happens, so it all balances out. This position requires you to work Monday to Friday 8:30am to 5:00pm, local time. Need to run for an appointment? No worries, we’re flexible with our hours, we’ll just need a little bit of notice.

Competitive Compensation

This is an hourly position, and the starting wage is between $22-$30. The wage is determined based off of your experience. Little to no experience? Don’t worry – we highly encourage you to still apply!

  • We care more about high proficiency level than years of experience, but we expect at least 3 years of experience with video editing will best set you up for success here
