Job Description

  • The Truck Trailer Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting and repairing trailers
  • Setup and repair of all types of air systems
  • Assemble and repair of all types and makes of suspensions and axles
  • General mechanical repairs such as brakes, pintle-hook assemblies
  • Structural repair and replacement of floors, walls, doors or roofs
  • Installation and repair of all types of electrical & hydraulic systems
  • Any other task related to the position may also be assigned
  • Aftermarket installing of lift gates

Required qualifications

  • Training as a mechanic OR more than three years’ work experience in the mechanic’s field (mechanic license considered an asset)
  • Strong diagnostics & repair skills
  • Ability to understand and apply the principles and techniques of trailer component assembly and to follow instructions
  • Good spatial reasoning skills
  • Ability to work alone and collaborate as a team
  • Ability to read drawings
  • Welding experience
