Position Summary:
Reporting to the Food Services Supervisor, the Tray Carrier is responsible for the delivery of food trays to patients and collecting trays after meals. In addition, the Tray Carrier may be required to work on the beltline and dish room. The Tray Carrier complies with the Occupational Health and Safety Standards for the hospital and is proactive in promoting a safe work environment.
Qualifications:
- Must be 16 years of age or older.
- Previous food service experience preferred.
- Basic knowledge of therapeutic diets an asset.
- Must be able to understand and read English sufficiently to follow verbal and written instructions and measurements.
- Must be able to stand/walk on hard floors for prolonged periods without causing undue strain.
- Must be able to reach and bend in order to clean high and low surfaces.
- Promote a positive attitude, friendly, courteous, good communication and listening skills.
- Able to coordinate and prioritize work with interruptions and able to work within a team environment
- Physical demands may involve but not limited to: standing, walking, bending, lifting, caring, pushing and handling varying weights of food/supply products in the performance of daily functions
- French Language proficiency is an asset
