The Position:

Timber Cruisers/Assistants are responsible for collecting detailed and accurate forest mensuration data in mature forest stands throughout British Columbia.

This position may also include other duties including but not limited to: GPS data capture, riparian assessments, basic boundary layout, road traverses and other general forest technician duties.

Our ideal candidate:

· Is independently motivated but also thrives in a fast-paced teamwork environment;

· Is physically fit, capable of carrying loads of up to 15kg for up to 15km in challenging terrain;

· Is a fast learner that responds well to constructive feedback;

· Has a flexible schedule, is willing to work in remote camps for up to ten days at a time, and is adaptable to a variety of work environments and situations;

· Enjoys being in the outdoors for long days, rain or shine and;

· Has a positive attitude and a good sense of humour.

Qualifications:

· Experience Timber Cruising in the BC Interior as a Cruiser or Compasser/Assistant

· Knowledge of the MFLNRORD Cruising Manual

· Valid Class 5 Driver’s License and safe driving record

· Legally eligible to work in Canada

Salary: $23.00-$27.00 per hour
