Role

The Technician – System Health monitors asset condition through sensors and other measurements in support of the PdM strategy. The Technician provides technical services and support to various activities relating to the effective operation and maintenance of the Canal system and structure.

Responsibilities

  • Performs monitoring of the assets health ;
  • Participates route cause analysis for breakdowns and any performance issue;
  • Troubleshooting, adjustments, maintenance and minor repairs of equipment on all structure;
  • Provides input on assets performance and route cause analysis of breakdowns (field expertise);
  • Performs troubleshooting/adjustments with Program Logic Controllers (PLC);
  • Works with operations to improve efficiency operating functions;
  • Helps in the implementation of improvements;
  • Support reliability/maintenance engineering;
  • Assists service provider with technical support;
  • Alarms/alerts analysis;
  • Owner of the monitoring devices.

Experience and knowledge

  • Minimum of three (3) to five (5) years related practical technical experience.
  • Understanding of electrical/mechanical drawings, specifications, plans and layouts
  • Advanced knowledge of computers and IP technology
  • Troubleshooting, analysis of predictive equipments (controls)
  • Knowledge of applicable procedures, rules, regulations, standards and safe work practices with respect to performing duties.
  • Read, interpret and prepare quality sketches and drawings
  • Perform a variety of mathematical calculations

Education

  • College Diploma in Electronics Engineering Technology or Mechanical Engineering Technology

Certifications

  • Provincial Certificate of Qualification as an Electrician (309-A Construction and Maintenance Electrician License or non-apprenticed 442-A license - ON)
  • Eligible for certification with the Ontario Association of Certified Engineering Technicians and Technologists or with l'Ordre des technologues professionnelles du Québec
  • Valid Class G (ON) or Class 5 (QC) driver's license and insurable driving record
Projected Start Date : 05/06/2022
Hours of work : 40 per week
Pay Grade : O&M 7
Salary range:$CAN41.15/hour (min) to $CAN43.74/hour (max)
