Summer Programming Facilitator Job at Chester Art Centre

$17 an hour

The Chester Art Centre is seeking a creative and motivated individual to join our team as a Summer Programming Facilitator. This position will work closely with our Programming Lead and will assist with the organization and implementation of arts activities including summer camp, exhibitions, summer classes and workshops, special events and festivals, and fundraising initiatives. They will also have the opportunity to create and offer arts programs that they feel inspired to share with the public.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the planning and facilitation arts programming for visitors of all ages
  • Assist in the development of program materials and resources
  • Provide excellent customer service to visitors, responding to inquiries and feedback in a friendly and professional manner
  • Assist with the set-up and tear-down of program areas and supplies
  • Ensure the safety and enjoyment of all participants during program activities

Requirements:

  • A passion for the arts and culture sector
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with people of all ages and backgrounds
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Experience in program planning and facilitation is preferred, but not required
  • Clear criminal background check including vulnerable sector
  • Must be a student attending post-secondary studies in the fall
  • Must be a resident of Nova Scotia (for a minimum of 6 months)
