Summer Arts Assistant
ABOUT THE SUMMER ARTS ASSISTANT
ECAH is seeking an organized and tech-savvy Summer Arts Assistant to support our
Project Manager in the coordination, marketing, and delivery of our summer programming, including the Mural Festival and Urban Arts Tour.
This position will be overseen by ECAH, but will participate in collaborative arts & culture work with the Esquimalt Chamber of Commerce and the Esquimalt Farmers
Market.
Candidates must be between the ages of 15 - 30 years old during the time of their employment, legally eligible to work in Canada and must pass a Criminal Record review if working with vulnerable populations.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Administration
- Provide ongoing support to the Executive Director and Independent Contractor
- Liaise with artists, our membership, and the public by email and in person
- Help create eNewsletters, social media content and website content
- Support event programming
Events and Program Support
- Provide in-person support to artists, facilitators, and participants
- Represent ECAH and our partner organizations at events and in the community
REQUIRED SKILLS
- Familiarity with online communications programs like email, Zoom, Google Drive
- Experience with digital marketing tools such as Canva, Squarespace is an asset
- Able and comfortable working independently with little supervision
- Comfortable with, and able to carry out, work-from-home tasks
- Basic communication skills such as reading, writing and speaking
- Some interest in the visual arts and public art is an asset
Training will be provided to the successful candidates.

Job Types: Part-time, Fixed term contract, Seasonal
Contract length: 9 weeks, with the possibility of extension dependant on funding
Work Term: June 12 - August 14 - Note: these dates are tentative and flexible
Part-time hours: 30 per week
Salary: $18.00 per hour
This position is funded through the Canada Summer Jobs program.
