Buy-Low Foods Osoyoos, BC

Buy-Low Foods has an opening for a Grocery Store Manager for our store located in Osoyoos, BC. This role is Full-Time and reports to the Vice President, Retail Operations.

Job duties and responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily store operations, supervise employees and manage inventory
  • Effectively recruit, train and retain new employees
  • Maintain store staffing levels to meet the needs of our customers, while operating within budgeted wage costs
  • Monitor performance of staff and develop employees to their full potential
  • Manage and motivate the team to increase sales, meet targets and exceed budgeted goals, while ensuring operational efficiency
  • Analyze and compare sales data for effective merchandising
  • Handle customer queries and complaints in a timely and professional manner
  • Comply with the Company’s established Health and Safety and Food Safety policies and regulations, and ensure that staff members are also adhering to these policies
  • Provide a safe and clean store environment to protect both staff and customers
  • Building solid relationships with customers and vendors, while actively seeking new business development opportunities through networking and community events
  • To perform other duties and tasks assigned or required as consistent with the nature and scope of the position

Skills and qualifications:

  • Previous grocery, retail and/or food service management experience
  • Proven track record in driving sales and effective merchandising
  • Above average communication, interpersonal & conflict resolution skills
  • Demonstrated ability to build a cohesive management team within the store
  • Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment
  • Superb customer service skills with a desire to provide a great shopping experience for customers
  • Willingness and availability to work a variety of shifts, including: Mornings, Afternoons, Evenings & Weekends
  • Proven track record as a self-starter; dedicated and goal orientated
  • Ability to ensure compliance of established company policies
  • Excellent command of the English language both verbal and written

Physical requirements:

  • Constant standing, bending and reaching
  • Frequent lifting of one to five pounds and occasional lifting of up to 40-50 pounds is required
  • Must be able to be on your feet for up to an entire 8-hour shift
